3 classic breakfast foods - nuuted

by team nuut

Breakfast is often described as the most important meal of the day, providing it supplies us with sustenance and energy for whatever the day has in store.

As nutritionist Adelle Davis famously said in the 1960s: “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.” Why? Breakfast not only breaks your overnight fast, but refuels glycogen (energy) stores, kick starts the metabolism, provides super-beneficial nutrients, boosts fibre and calcium intake, reduces the chances of over- consuming high kilojoule foods later in the day, and stabilises blood sugar levels.

Because our mornings are super-hectic, we took our breakfast go-tos – avocado, oatmeal and coffee – and tweaked them for the ultimate protein-powered breakfast on the go.

The secret add-in? Why nuut of course.

Chocolate Oat Pudding

Healthy, wholesome and wickedly moreish, this is the ultimate chocolate dessert (for breakfast).
Ingredients:
1 sachet nuut (any blend you wish)
¾ cup rolled oats
⅓ cup pure maple syrup
2 ¼ cups plant-based milk

Toppings:
Organic peanut butter (optional)
Blueberries (optional)
Pumpkin seeds (optional)
½ banana (optional)
What to do:
1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz for one minute.

2. Transfer mixture to a small saucepan. Heat over medium, whisking constantly, until it starts to thicken (about 2 minutes). Continue to heat the pudding over medium heat for 3 more minutes, whisking constantly.

3. The pudding will be thick enough to eat right away, but you can refrigerate it for about an hour to enjoy a chilled pudding. The leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days.

nuut Avo Breakfast Shake

Because smashed avo is soooo 2020. Nutrient-dense avocado add undeniable creaminess to smoothies.
Ingredients:
1 sachet nuut (any blend you wish)
½ avocado
1 pitted date
1 teaspoon almond butter
350ml plant-based milk
Ice
What to do:
1. Pour almond milk and ice in blender.

2. Spoon in the almond butter, then add the nuut, avocado and date.

3. Blitz until smooth and enjoy.

Morning Mocha

Chocolate + coffee = the most delicious start to every day.
Ingredients:
1 sachet nuut (any blend you desire)
1 cup plant-based milk
2 teaspoons expresso
1 teaspoon organic honey
2 cups ice
What to do:
1. Place all ingredients in blender and blitz until smooth.

2. For best results, add all of the liquid ingredients first, then top with ice before blending. For a lighter smoothie, skip the ice. For a thicker smoothie, add more ice. Simple.
